The Challenge

Translate a sport icon into a product that feels at home at the gym and on the commute, with clarity of use and minimal visual noise. Integrate handle, straw, and refill access into a single, legible architecture. Qualitative consumer research surfaced unmet needs around quick refills, ambidextrous sipping, and bag friendly carry, which framed the opportunity areas for design.

The Solution

Center the flip up straw on axis for left and right handed use, pair it with a lockable fill port for rapid top ups, and frame the body with an open bottom handle that slides into cup holders or hooks to a bag. Treat these elements as one cohesive cap and handle system so the touchpoints are intuitive, protected, and visually calm. Maintain a straightforward cylindrical body that balances durability with a refined presence.

The Result

A disciplined form that carries Gatorade’s performance DNA into daily life, delivering a clear, low friction hydration ritual. The silhouette communicates purpose, the interactions stay simple, and the product feels equally credible on the sideline and in the street.
